Hussein Abugri is the Regional Manager of Industrial Relations at Newmont Mining Corporation. He was an Engineer Superintendent-Planned Maintenance at AngloGold Ashanti responsible for all planned maintenance activities of the underground and gold treatment plant ensuring that required equipment availabilities were attained in a cost effective manner.
He successfully led the implementation of computerized planned maintenance systems at Obuasi in Ghana and Freda-Rebecca Mine in Zimbabwe and the cost and productivity improvement taskforce team of the Obuasi Mine. He then went on to become the Human Resource Manager for AngloGold Ashanti and then processed to being the General Manger of Human Resources. Likewise all this positions, he went on to achieve other positions before his current position.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of Science & Technology, Master of Science in Engineering Management from University of Witwatersrand and also a Barrister of Law from Ghana School of Law.
